| Big Ass Show | March 19th, 2008 |
| Posted by Chris | |
| We've got a huge show coming up on Friday. It's going to kick more ass than all the other shows. First of all, it's on a Friday. Everyone loves to party on Fridays. Second, it's at The Railway Club, the undisputed champion of Vancouver venues. And third, It's a kick ass line up. We're opening the show, followed by Los Furios, who we always love playing with. The headliner for the evening is Pimpbot. They are a ska band all the way from Hawaii. Who knows the next time they will make it to the mainland, so lets show them a good time. Other big news from The Elixxxirs camp, we've been asked to open for The Slackers in Victoria. The Slackers are one of the biggest Ska bands and have been filling halls since 1991. They also happen to be Bobbi Jo's favorite band, so it's a huge honor to play with them. That show is May 14th at Element in Victoria. | |

It was out of our hands :( We've got a show coming up soon at The Media Club. It's Wednesday Feb. 27th with Fuzzcat and The Friday Knights. We've also set up a new Facebook Fan page: go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Elixxxirs/9614009011 to check it out.

First things first: The big show in Jan. We're super excited to announce that we're playing with The Evaporators featuring Nadwaur the Human Serviette. It's going to be at Seylynn Hall on Jan 26th. It's the second time we've rocked Seylynn Hall, and we're hoping a ton of people are going to come out and check out the Show. In Feb we've got another BC/Alberta Tour. Here are the dates: Golden BC, Thurs. Feb 7th, The Lyric (aka Packers Place) Canmore AB, Fri. and Sat. Feb 8th and 9th, The Drake Edmonton AB, Mon. The other big news for right now is out show at The Railway Club on March 21st. We're playing with The Furios who are always great and Pimpbot who are from Hawaii. We've never played with a band from that far away, and we are excited to see what those wacky Hawaiians can do.

We've been trying to play at Seylynn Hall as long as we've been a band. We have heard great things about the shows that go off at this all-ages venue in North Van. This Saturday, we get to witness first hand the madness that is Seylynn Hall. We're headlining the show and we've got The Easy Brothers, The Likely Lads, The Knuckle Dusters, and Sububran Graffiti to get everyone riled up before we knock their socks off. It's a great line up and it's going to be a kick ass show. Show starts at 6:30. $8 at the door. | Hey Everyone. After taking a bit of a break and enjoying the summer, The Elixxxirs are back in action. We're heading out on the road to rock a bit of BC and Alberta. Our first stop is Banff, AB where we are playing our first ever 2 night stand. We're on for Tuesday, Sept 11th and Wednesday, Sept 12th. So get in your car, book a hotel and rock out with us for 2 nights in the Rockies. (No snow this time of year though.) After that, we're heading up north to Edmonton where we will be playing Friday, Sept. 14th at The Velvet Underground. Other bands T.B.A. for that show. The last stop on our September 2007 Tour is Nelson, BC on Saturday, Sept. 15th. We'll be kicking ass at The Royal then piling back in the Van and cruising down to the coast. We've also got a show in Vancouver in September for the West Coasters. We're going to be playing at The Bourbon on Saturday, Sept. 29th. The Bourbon is making a name for itself as a new live-music venue in Van, and it's the first time we've played there, so we are very excited about that. Come check it out and see what they've done to the place.
| Victoria 8th Annual SKA FEST = 100% Awesome! | July 19th, 2007 |
| Posted by Bobbi-Jo | |
| I can not begin to tell you how great Ska Fest is! It is an incredibly run festival with wonderful hosts and volenteers. First we would like to thank Dane and the Victoria Ska Society for asking us to come and play Ska Fest this year! Unfortunately Chris wasn't able to be at Ska fest so we asked Sean Bales (Skatomatics) to fill in and he certainly pulled it off, along with every article of clothing minus his shiny gold underpants! Matt Carter (The Kiltlifters) joined us with his amazing saxaphone style that blows us away everytime he gets on stage with us.
I had a chance meeting with Neville Staple and his band on the Friday night of Ska Fest when I was heading back to the hotel before everyone else. I needed to get sleep if I was waking up at 9:00am to sing at 12:00pm the following day. On Saturday we ran into Neville, Sledge, Andy, Patrick, and Joey in market square. We played our set in the sun and loved every minute of being on stage! It was our first time playing a festival and our first time playing a day set. To our great pleasure and suprise Neville and his band played a set right after us. Neville heard that a couple of younger kids couldn't afford to get into the later show where he would be headlining and decided to play some songs for them. Neville and his band rang out songs from The Specials and it amazed me... I was seriously in awe. What a treat to have Neville and his band up on stage after us! I think I'm still in awe about it! We ended up meeting Neville and the guys backstage after their show and also shared the ferry ride home with them. They indeed are quality people. I feel like we made some new friends this weekend.
I also want to thank all of the people that approached s and told us how much they enjoyed our set. It really means alot when people go out of their way to let us know that they like our music. I met alot of really cool people this weekend and I can't wait til' next year! Music and friends – isn't that what life is about?
I'll hopefully get Chris to post some pictures from the tour and from ska fest very soon – so keep checking back!

| TOUR COMPLETE! | July 4th, 2007 |
| Posted by Bobbi-Jo | |
OMG! We had a wicked time on our Western Canada tour! Thanks to all of the venues that booked us, all of the bands we shared the stage with, and all of the people who came out to the shows, danced and bought our CD!
We met alot of cool people on this tour. Not to place favorites BUT we LOVED Fernie BC, what a cool town!!! We also really enjoyed The Stetson in Calgary where we opened with The Cripple Creek Fairies for a fantastic band called VOILA! Soooo much fun and we met some great people there!!! Thanks also to Chris`Parents who let us stay in Edmonton with them, to Will`s parents who let us stay with them in Thorsb, and to Tristin from Five Star Affair who gave us a place to stay and watermelon. I started typing a blog telling all of the happenings - but it ended up being ALOT to read... the highlights of tour - Chris Puked on my arm when driving from Canmore to Calgary - he ate a sub that wasn`t refridgerated and got food poisoning. We were pulled over by the police on our first night driving beacuse we looked like a van that just robbed the gas station. Alec (our new drummer) kept us entertained by his languistics... he used the term `Hard Core Rumpy Pumpy` and when someone asked us if we were camping Alec politely replied `No sir, this is a Van full of instruments`. We were invited to a party in Fernie that was `7 blocks away`it ended up being a half hour walk... but a fun walk it was. We had friends drive and fly to some of our shows which was a real treat! Thank you Will, Meg, Sandra, Heidi and Nicole (who helped us with the merch for 3 days!!!) It was great having another female around :) I know that much more happened that I am typing but it is late and I am still winding down from the tour. We are gearing up for Victoria`s 8th Annual Ska Fest where we will be playing a free show in Market square at 1:00pm on Saturday Afternoon July 14th. Don`t miss out on that night`s show at The Curling Rink where The Mad Caddie, Neval Staple, The Real McKenzies andmany more bands will be taking the stage!!!! It`s going to be a great time! For more details go to www.victoriaskafest.com. We have som new Merchandise for sale - awesome girl beater tanks and The Elixxxirs Shot Glasses!! We`ll have all of our Merch at Ska Fest!! First Day home and the emails are out for our tour in Seotember - We are planning 17 shows between Vancouver here and Sask. Keep checking back for the Dates!!! Have a Colourful Summer! Your friendly Elixxxir, Bobbi-Jo

| Lots of New Photos and Our Last Shows of the Year | Nov. 21th, 2006 |
|
Well, I finally got around to uploading all the pictures that I have been taking and added them to the website. There are all new pictures of our Cross Canada Tour with The Kiltlifters this summer, pictures of our CD Release Party at The Railway Club, and a crazy set of pictures from our Halloween Show. There are also some pictures added to some of the other sections. Click on Photos on the left to access the goodness. Our shows on The Island are just around the corner. December 1st we are playing in Victoria at Steamers and December 2nd we are playing in Nanaimo at The Cambie. The Arbutus Trio from Victoria will be playing with us for both shows. These two shows will be our last shows for 2006. We will be pausing the rockin' over Christmas while we eat turkey and exchange guitar pick neckties with our family members. SO, if you want to see The Elixxxirs rock out before you ring in 2007, you'll have to make the trek with us to Vancouver Island. Why not make a weekend of it and come to both shows? If you can't make it, don't fret, we already have a show booked for 2007. It's Jan. 26th at The Railway Club. Always a good place to spend a Friday night, especially with your favorite band.

We're going to try to book a show somewhere else on the Island for the Saturday to make a weekend out of it. Info will be posted as soon as it is available.

Good times had by all (except the cops). Our next show is Tuesday, August 29th. It's a fashion show at Au Bar. We will be playing a set between the modeling, but don't know exactly what time yet. | Tour is Finished. | June 26th, 2006 |
|
The Elixxxirs have their first Cross Canada tour under their belts! We had a great time travelling this awesome country! We met lots of rad people and some cool bands on our travels. Thanks to Yvonne of the Makeshift Heroes in Toronto for setting up a show and letting us crash at her place! The real heroes of the tour were a band from Ontario called Skratch 3. We met up with them in Regina only a day after their "tour bus" caught on fire and half their stuff was burned to a crisp. They managed to keep it together and play 2 shows with us. Skratch 3 - you guys rock!
| TOUR STARTS TOMMOROW!!! | May 31th, 2006 |
|
This is it. One more sleep til The Elixxxirs embark on our first Cross-Canada Tour. I am so freaking excited. Make sure you check out the upcoming shows section to see if we are playing in a town near you. When we get back, we'll barely have time to rest, because after a 12 hour drive from Calgary, it'll be time for our CD Release show back in Vancouver at Railway Club. That is going to be a rip roaring time. Get there early because there will be a line-up down the block. We will be selling CD's at the show for $5, so get them then, cause that's a one night only price. Once we get back and get organized, we will have the CD for sale online.
| Tour Dates | May 8th, 2006 |

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Blarney Stone. We had a rip roaring time. Our CD is so close to being finished. It sounds so good. It's going to kick major ass. | New Website | April 28, 2006 |
|
Hey Everybody! Good News! In addition to recording a new cd, organizing our CD release show, and getting ready for our Cross-Canada tour with The Kiltlifters, we have also found time to do a complete overhaul of our website. If you are reading this, you are already enjoying the fruits of our labours. (That sounds dirty but isn't.) Please have a look around, take in the new layout, and enjoy all the pretty colors. Hopefully there won't be too many bugs to work out, but if you find something that doesn't seem right or you have any comments or suggestions, please . Other than that, We are super excited about our show with The Furios this Thursday. Come out to The Blarney Stone for a crazy show that you will never forget!

Anyway, the show is with The Furios, a kickass Vancouver Ska/Punk band. They have played on the Warped Tour and at Slam City Jam. They have a new CD and it kicks ass. The Show at the Blarney is going to be our last one in Vancouver for a little while. We are hard at work finishing our CD. It's coming along very well and sounds great. Hit Songs all over the place. We are also doing a tour with The Kiltlifters in Early June so keep an eye out for date and tell all your out of town friends to watch us. Exact dates will be released soon. OH! And we booked our CD release party. But I can't tell you yet. (Ain't I a bastard!) Think MID-JUNE!!!
