It's been a busy time for The Elixxxirs. We've got lots to tell you about!

First off: Two big shows coming up in May. We're playing with Winnipeg ska-punks Sub City Dwellers. That's at 917 Main (The New Cobalt) on Friday, May 14th. Rude City Riot will also be rocking that night. (And it's Bobbi's B-Day, so buy her a drink.)

The next big show is at The Railway Club on Friday, May 21st. We're playing with some of our favorite local bands. Los Furious, Bone Daddies are always fun to watch. It is also the debut of Reggae on the Rocks which features members of the Karmacanix and Seven O'clock Scandal.

We've also got a new video for you to check out. Our friend Will Zuzu recorded us at Xmas in Skaville and captured a wicked version of our new tune "Heading To The Finish" Check it out on our home page.

We've given our drummer, Alec, free reign over our new Twitter account. Look for many crazy updates and drunken 140 character ramblings. It's The Elixxxirs uncensored. Check it out at http://twitter.com/theelixxxirs

Finally: We've brought our website into the new millennia! It's been a few years, but we've finally given www.theelixxxirs.com a makeover. Big thanks to Steve at Combination 13 for making the sweet new graphics.

Bonus Finally: We're in pre-production for new album. We've got 22 new songs, and we have to turn them into a rockin album. Check for something in the Fall!!!

Big Ass Show March 19th, 2008
Posted by Chris
We've got a huge show coming up on Friday. It's going to kick more ass than all the other shows. First of all, it's on a Friday. Everyone loves to party on Fridays. Second, it's at The Railway Club, the undisputed champion of Vancouver venues.  And third, It's a kick ass line up. We're opening the show, followed by Los Furios, who we always love playing with. The headliner for the evening is Pimpbot. They are a ska band all the way from Hawaii. Who knows the next time they will make it to the mainland, so lets show them a good time.

Other big news from The Elixxxirs camp, we've been asked to open for The Slackers in Victoria. The Slackers are one of the biggest Ska bands and have been filling halls since 1991. They also happen to be Bobbi Jo's favorite band, so it's a huge honor to play with them. That show is May 14th at Element in Victoria.

Tour was Rad! February 19th, 2008

Thanks to everyone who came out to watch us rock BC and Alberta. Apologies to anyone who wanted to rock the Edmonton show. The bar staff got sick and they had to cancel the show. It was out of our hands :(

We've got a show coming up soon at The Media Club. It's Wednesday Feb. 27th with Fuzzcat and The Friday Knights.

We've also set up a new Facebook Fan page: go to  http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Elixxxirs/9614009011 to check it out.

It's only two days into 2008 and it's already shaping up to be a sweet year for The Elixxxirs. We've got a really big show in Jan, a tour in Feb. and a big show in March.

First things first: The big show in Jan. We're super excited to announce that we're playing with The Evaporators featuring Nadwaur the Human Serviette. It's going to be at Seylynn Hall on Jan 26th. It's the second time we've rocked Seylynn Hall, and we're hoping a ton of people are going to come out and check out the Show.

In Feb we've got another BC/Alberta Tour. Here are the dates:

Golden BC, Thurs. Feb 7th, The Lyric (aka Packers Place)

Canmore AB, Fri. and Sat. Feb 8th and 9th, The Drake

Edmonton AB, Mon. Feb 11th, New City Likwid Lounge

Banff AB, Tues. and Wed. Feb 12th and 13th, The Rose and Crown

The other big news for right now is out show at The Railway Club on March 21st. We're playing with The Furios who are always great and Pimpbot who are from Hawaii. We've never played with a band from that far away, and we are excited to see what those wacky Hawaiians can do.

First Seylynn Hall Show!!! November 5th, 2007

We've been trying to play at Seylynn Hall as long as we've been a band. We have heard great things about the shows that go off at this all-ages venue in North Van. This Saturday, we get to witness first hand the madness that is Seylynn Hall.

We're headlining the show and we've got The Easy Brothers, The Likely Lads, The Knuckle Dusters, and Sububran Graffiti to get everyone riled up before we knock their socks off. It's a great line up and it's going to be a kick ass show.

Show starts at 6:30. $8 at the door.

Seylynn Hall is located in North Van at 905 Mountain Hwy.

Hey Everyone. After taking a bit of a break and enjoying the summer, The Elixxxirs are back in action. We're heading out on the road to rock a bit of BC and Alberta.

Our first stop is Banff, AB where we are playing our first ever 2 night stand. We're on for Tuesday, Sept 11th and Wednesday, Sept 12th. So get in your car, book a hotel and rock out with us for 2 nights in the Rockies. (No snow this time of year though.)

After that, we're heading up north to Edmonton where we will be playing Friday, Sept. 14th at The Velvet Underground. Other bands T.B.A. for that show.

The last stop on our September 2007 Tour is Nelson, BC on Saturday, Sept. 15th. We'll be kicking ass at The Royal then piling back in the Van and cruising down to the coast.

We've also got a show in Vancouver in September for the West Coasters. We're going to be playing at The Bourbon on Saturday, Sept. 29th. The Bourbon is making a name for itself as a new live-music venue in Van, and it's the first time we've played there, so we are very excited about that. Come check it out and see what they've done to the place.

Victoria 8th Annual SKA FEST = 100% Awesome! July 19th, 2007
Posted by Bobbi-Jo
I can not begin to tell you how great Ska Fest is! It is an incredibly run festival with wonderful hosts and volenteers. First we would like to thank Dane and the Victoria Ska Society for asking us to come and play Ska Fest this year! Unfortunately Chris wasn't able to be at Ska fest so we asked Sean Bales (Skatomatics) to fill in and he certainly pulled it off, along with every article of clothing minus his shiny gold underpants! Matt Carter (The Kiltlifters) joined us with his amazing saxaphone style that blows us away everytime he gets on stage with us.

I had a chance meeting with Neville Staple and his band on the Friday night of Ska Fest when I was heading back to the hotel before everyone else. I needed to get sleep if I was waking up at 9:00am to sing at 12:00pm the following day.

On Saturday we ran into Neville, Sledge, Andy, Patrick, and Joey in market square. We played our set in the sun and loved every minute of being on stage! It was our first time playing a festival and our first time playing a day set. To our great pleasure and suprise Neville and his band played a set right after us. Neville heard that a couple of younger kids couldn't afford to get into the later show where he would be headlining and decided to play some songs for them. Neville and his band rang out songs from The Specials and it amazed me... I was seriously in awe. What a treat to have Neville and his band up on stage after us! I think I'm still in awe about it!

We ended up meeting Neville and the guys backstage after their show and also shared the ferry ride home with them. They indeed are quality people. I feel like we made some new friends this weekend.

I also want to thank all of the people that approached s and told us how much they enjoyed our set. It really means alot when people go out of their way to let us know that they like our music. I met alot of really cool people this weekend and I can't wait til' next year!

Music and friends – isn't that what life is about?

I'll hopefully get Chris to post some pictures from the tour and from ska fest very soon – so keep checking back!

your smiling elixxxir,

Bobbi-Jo

TOUR COMPLETE! July 4th, 2007
Posted by Bobbi-Jo

OMG!

We had a wicked time on our Western Canada tour! Thanks to all of the venues that booked us, all of the bands we shared the stage with, and all of the people who came out to the shows, danced and bought our CD!

We met alot of cool people on this tour. Not to place favorites BUT we LOVED Fernie BC, what a cool town!!! We also really enjoyed The Stetson in Calgary where we opened with The Cripple Creek Fairies for a fantastic band called VOILA! Soooo much fun and we met some great people there!!! Thanks also to Chris`Parents who let us stay in Edmonton with them, to Will`s parents who let us stay with them in Thorsb, and to Tristin from Five Star Affair who gave us a place to stay and watermelon.

I started typing a blog telling all of the happenings - but it ended up being ALOT to read... the highlights of tour - Chris Puked on my arm when driving from Canmore to Calgary - he ate a sub that wasn`t refridgerated and got food poisoning. We were pulled over by the police on our first night driving beacuse we looked like a van that just robbed the gas station. Alec (our new drummer) kept us entertained by his languistics... he used the term `Hard Core Rumpy Pumpy` and when someone asked us if we were camping Alec politely replied `No sir, this is a Van full of instruments`. We were invited to a party in Fernie that was `7 blocks away`it ended up being a half hour walk... but a fun walk it was. We had friends drive and fly to some of our shows which was a real treat! Thank you Will, Meg, Sandra, Heidi and Nicole (who helped us with the merch for 3 days!!!) It was great having another female around :) I know that much more happened that I am typing but it is late and I am still winding down from the tour.

We are gearing up for Victoria`s 8th Annual Ska Fest where we will be playing a free show in Market square at 1:00pm on Saturday Afternoon July 14th. Don`t miss out on that night`s show at The Curling Rink where The Mad Caddie, Neval Staple, The Real McKenzies andmany more bands will be taking the stage!!!!

It`s going to be a great time! For more details go to www.victoriaskafest.com. We have som new Merchandise for sale - awesome girl beater tanks and The Elixxxirs Shot Glasses!! We`ll have all of our Merch at Ska Fest!!

First Day home and the emails are out for our tour in Seotember - We are planning 17 shows between Vancouver here and Sask. Keep checking back for the Dates!!!

Have a Colourful Summer!

Your friendly Elixxxir,

Bobbi-Jo

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!!! Jan. 4th, 2007
After taking a short break to celebrate to holidays, The Elixxxirs are back in action. We've got a couple shows coming up and some other news to tell you about.

First things first: Upcoming Shows.
We are very excited to tell you that our first show of the year is going to be super awesome. It's a Friday night (January 26th) at The Railway Club. If you've never been to The Railway on a Friday night, know this: It's Awesome. Joining us for our third show in a row is Arbutus Trio. They are a 3 price ska/reggae/rock band from Victoria and they kick ass. The Easy Brothers, A new band with former member of Los Furios will also be rocking their first show ever with us that night.

Our second show of the year is also going to be a crazy rock fest. It's the CD release party of Vancouver's newest rock sensation, Ending Alexander. $10 gets you in the door and a copy of their new self titled CD. It's at The Lamplighter on Thursday, Feb. 1st.

Other news: The Elixxxirs have a new email address.

Not content to just sit around and watch bands like OK GO and Lonelygirl15 use YouTube to get noticed, The Elixxxirs decided to join the digital revolution. CHECK OUT THE VIDEO!

Lots of New Photos and Our Last Shows of the Year Nov. 21th, 2006
Well, I finally got around to uploading all the pictures that I have been taking and added them to the website. There are all new pictures of our Cross Canada Tour with The Kiltlifters this summer, pictures of our CD Release Party at The Railway Club, and a crazy set of pictures from our Halloween Show. There are also some pictures added to some of the other sections. Click on Photos on the left to access the goodness.

Our shows on The Island are just around the corner. December 1st we are playing in Victoria at Steamers and December 2nd we are playing in Nanaimo at The Cambie. The Arbutus Trio from Victoria will be playing with us for both shows.

These two shows will be our last shows for 2006. We will be pausing the rockin' over Christmas while we eat turkey and exchange guitar pick neckties with our family members. SO, if you want to see The Elixxxirs rock out before you ring in 2007, you'll have to make the trek with us to Vancouver Island. Why not make a weekend of it and come to both shows?

If you can't make it, don't fret, we already have a show booked for 2007. It's Jan. 26th at The Railway Club. Always a good place to spend a Friday night, especially with your favorite band.

Last Minute Halloween Plans Oct. 25th, 2006
Hey Everyone, It's really short notice, but we have been asked to play a Halloween Show. It's this Friday, Oct 27th at PUB 340. We will be playing first, followed by Betty Kracker then I, Braineater wrapping up the night. It's going to be a great time. Be prepared to unleash our inner Zombie on this, the most unholy of all the big holidays.

Our next show after that one will also be a very big one. Not only is it the CD release party for The Karmacanix new CD, we are also happy to announce that we will be playing with Chris Murray. Chris Murray is huge in the Ska world, many call him the King of Ska. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/chrismurray. Kyle Fury from The Furios will also be playing an acoustic set to start the night off, so it should be a great night. It all goes down November 4th at Pat's Pub.

And there is even more big news. We have all the details sorted out for our dates on Vancouver Island in December. The first show is in Victoria at Steamers Pub on Friday, December 1st. On Saturday, December 2nd we will be driving up to Nanaimo for a night at The Cambie. We will be playing with The Arbutus Trio for both shows.

Our next show is Nov. 4th at The Lamplighter in Vancouver. It's the CD release party for the brand new CD from The Karmacanix. There are also rumors of a very special guest playing at the show.
Our Show in Victoria has been moved. It's now on Friday, Dec. 1st. We will be playing with The Arbutus Trio. We're going to try to book a show somewhere else on the Island for the Saturday to make a weekend out of it. Info will be posted as soon as it is available.

Lots of Shows Coming Up Sept 18th, 2006
The Elixxxirs have been practicing like mad and Bobbi-Jo has been on the phone like crazy and we've got 4 Shows to announce. We've got 3 shows in Vancouver: Oct 6th at the Picadilly, Nov. 2nd at The Lamplighter (The Karmacanix CD release Party), and we're rocking the new year on Jan 27th with a Friday night show at the Railway. So keep you ears open if you live in Nanimo, Comox, Cumberland, Courtney, or anywhere else around those parts or any shows that need a kick ass band.

If You Were There, You Know. August 20st, 2006
Hey Guys. We just played a crazy show last night. Tony from The Skatomatics threw a wild bash on the roof of his apartment building downtown. Hot Breakfast played their first show together in a year, we played a kick ass set, and The Skatomatics ended the night by rocking hard until the cops came and shut it down. Good times had by all (except the cops).

Our next show is Tuesday, August 29th. It's a fashion show at Au Bar. We will be playing a set between the modeling, but don't know exactly what time yet. We'll keep you posted.

Elixxxirs Back in Action August 1st, 2006

Tour is Finished. June 26th, 2006

The Elixxxirs have their first Cross Canada tour under their belts! We had a great time travelling this awesome country! We met lots of rad people and some cool bands on our travels. Thanks to Yvonne of the Makeshift Heroes in Toronto for setting up a show and letting us crash at her place! The real heroes of the tour were a band from Ontario called Skratch 3. We met up with them in Regina only a day after their "tour bus" caught on fire and half their stuff was burned to a crisp. They managed to keep it together and play 2 shows with us. Skratch 3 - you guys rock!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the shows and bought our CD! Hope you are enjoying it! And of course kudos to our favorite Vancouver Island Party Ska Band, The Kiltlifters, for taking us on tour and showing us the ropes. Special thanks to Brodie for drumming with us for the tour and to Matt for saxing it up!!! You guys rock! ... you too B.B. St. Jean.

The CD release party on June 17th at The Railway Club went off!! We were happy to see so many friends and familiar faces at the show. Everyone had a great time. Lotsa dancing and singing/yelling going on!!!

So what's next for The Elixxxirs? Chris and Dave and I are travelling for a few weeks. By mid July we'll be back in Action. In August we are playing at a fashion show in Vancouver. In September keep your ears open for an outdoor Ska show that we are taking part in. As for touring, well we are getting that underway too, and hoping to do a Western Canada tour later in the year.

TOUR STARTS TOMMOROW!!! May 31th, 2006

This is it. One more sleep til The Elixxxirs embark on our first Cross-Canada Tour. I am so freaking excited. Make sure you check out the upcoming shows section to see if we are playing in a town near you.

When we get back, we'll barely have time to rest, because after a 12 hour drive from Calgary, it'll be time for our CD Release show back in Vancouver at Railway Club. That is going to be a rip roaring time. Get there early because there will be a line-up down the block. We will be selling CD's at the show for $5, so get them then, cause that's a one night only price.

Once we get back and get organized, we will have the CD for sale online.

Tour Dates May 8th, 2006
Thanks to everyone who came out to The Blarney Stone. We had a rip roaring time.
Our CD is so close to being finished. It sounds so good. It's going to kick major ass. There are two sample songs up in the music section, but once the CD is done, we'll put a couple full length tracks.
We are also happy to announce some of our tour dates. They have been posted in the Shows section. We are super stoked to be touring across the country with one of our favorite bands, The Kiltlifters. If you live in any of the towns we are going to, or have friends that live there, make sure you come out for a kick ass night of musical debauchery.

New Website April 28, 2006
Hey Everybody! Good News! In addition to recording a new cd, organizing our CD release show, and getting ready for our Cross-Canada tour with The Kiltlifters, we have also found time to do a complete overhaul of our website. If you are reading this, you are already enjoying the fruits of our labours. (That sounds dirty but isn't.)
Please have a look around, take in the new layout, and enjoy all the pretty colors. Hopefully there won't be too many bugs to work out, but if you find something that doesn't seem right or you have any comments or suggestions, please email us .
Other than that, We are super excited about our show with The Furios this Thursday. Come out to The Blarney Stone for a crazy show that you will never forget!

Change of Dates for Show April 5, 2006

Due to renovations, our show at the Blarney Stone has been rescheduled. So forget everthing I said about 4/20 and going back to the 50's. The date is May 4th. It's a Thursday night and we are going to be ripping up the Blarney Stone with The Furious, new paint job be damned.
The Furious are a kickass Ska/Punk band who have played on the Warped Tour and at Slam City Jam, so you know they are rockin the street cred. Plus their new album kicks ass.
As I mentioned before, the show at the Blarney will be our last in Vancouver for a while. We are going on tour with The Kiltlifters in June and are hard at work finishing our CD to be ready in time to take with us on the tour. (There will be a CD release in Vancouver in Mid-June)

4/20 Show March, 28 2006

Hey Everyone, We've got a big show coming up! We are playing at the Blarney Stone on April 20th. That's Right. It's a 4/20 Show, you know what that means! And if you don't, go back to the 50's. Anyway, the show is with The Furios, a kickass Vancouver Ska/Punk band. They have played on the Warped Tour and at Slam City Jam. They have a new CD and it kicks ass.

The Show at the Blarney is going to be our last one in Vancouver for a little while. We are hard at work finishing our CD. It's coming along very well and sounds great. Hit Songs all over the place. We are also doing a tour with The Kiltlifters in Early June so keep an eye out for date and tell all your out of town friends to watch us. Exact dates will be released soon.

OH! And we booked our CD release party. But I can't tell you yet. (Ain't I a bastard!) Think MID-JUNE!!!
